Julian A Barnes
Julian A. Barnes has been an adviser to hundreds of businesses
nationwide in recent years. Prior to forming Barnes Enterprises,
Barnes was the co-founder of BLG Ventures, Inc., a company
that produced tradeshows for the venture capital and technology
industries. At BLG Ventures, Barnes’ responsibilities
include overseeing the company’s sales and marketing
operations, legal affairs, business development and strategic
planning functions. In 2001 and 2002, BLG Ventures hosted
13 technology forums in areas such as Silicon Valley,
Houston, Chicago and Greater Washington, DC. Before founding
BLG Ventures, Barnes was the managing partner of Barnes
Law Group, P.C., a boutique law firm that represented
emerging growth businesses in the new media, venture capital,
fashion, financial services, consulting and real estate
sectors. Before Barnes Law Group, Barnes was a corporate
attorney on Wall Street where he worked at Cadwalader,
Wickersham & Taft and Merrill Lynch & Co.
Barnes is the co-author of Barnes Enterprises’
2002 Guide to Venture Capital and Angel Investors for
Women and Minorities (Lewis Publishing, 2002). He is
also an Adjunct Professor at New York University where
he teaches classes on small businesses and entrepreneurship
and he is the Faculty Coordinator for NYU’s Summer
Institute in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management.
He is a graduate of Tufts University and he received
his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill School of Law.
